lovely stay, great location

the location was very central, near to many restaurants and stores. the room had much natural lighting and was quite spacious. the staff was both helpful and accommodating to all of my needs.
the building felt old, and i feel like it had not been renovated in some time. there was a moldy odor on each floor, it smelled putrid. the first room we saw featured a very low ceiling and a terrible smell. it smelled like industrial bleach.

the hotel is located in a historic building, very close to trams and various city attractions. the area had plenty of atmosphere, and i very much liked the area as it offered lots to see and do.

prior to arrival, the staff contacted me to determine my bedding arrangements, which i appreciated. the staff were friendly and efficient. they helped with my luggage and brought it to my room after check-in.

the hotel staff gave very good restaurant recommendations nearby. i visited a few restaurants that they recommended and enjoyed the local cuisine. there were many options to chose from within walking distance.

sloped ceiling
i was on the top floor and getting up there with luggage was awful! plus, the bathroom had a sloped ceiling because it was in the attic. hitting my head more than once was not fun.

The walls seemed REALLY thin. I could constantly hear the cleaning staff chatting and slamming doors throughout the day. there was some kind of daycare nearby. Kids were always screaming right outside our window. The room itself was unbelievably SMALL though.

the staff were very kind and informative. i had a quiet and cozy double or twin room river view with a view of the tagus river (i enjoyed it). the bed provided a wonderful night's sleep, complemented by a nice hot shower. i also appreciated the outdoor space where i ate my dinner.
my room was up four flights of stairs. the stairs were difficult to navigate with luggage (they helped with it, though). the room was also rather small, and it had limited usable space. i found a lack of common amenities, such as drawers for clothing.
